HPC Conference; March 30 - April 1, 2004 2/2/2004
The National High Performance Computing and Communications Council will
hold its 18th Annual HPC Conference on 30 March -1 April 2004. This
year’s meeting is being held at the Hyatt Regency Newport Hotel and
Spa, Rhode Island’s premier resort complex.
This year’s theme is: “High-End Computing in the Wireless World: The
Grid and Beyond” and the program is as exciting as it gets! Come and
hear what’s up with the three fastest computers on the planet - not to
mention the latest in Homeland Cybersecurity; HPC Applications;
Wireless Technology; Privacy and Security in the Financial Services
Sector; and the Grid.
A new addition to the already packed schedule is a panel discussion
entitled, Grid Computing: Preparing to Cross the Chasm. Sponsored by
Platform Computing, it features a lively exchange by major industry
players. The program also features presentations and exhibits by
INTEL, Linux Networx, Marconi Corporation and SGI. Other exhibitors
include: DataDirect Networks, Shomo Technical Systems, HP, General
Dynamics and Apple.
The conference features a reception and dinner, An Evening in Olde
Newport, at Mrs. Astor’s Beechwood mansion. You’ll step back into 1895
as guests of “The” Mrs. Astor, queen of American Society. As Mrs.
Astor’s family, society friends, and domestic staff guide you through
Beechwood, you will get a glimpse of the splendid lifestyle the Astor
family brought to Newport during the Victorian era. Join us for a
memorable evening of cocktails, dinner and interactive mansion tours.
The National HPCC Council is a not-for-profit professional society of
government IT employees, dedicated to providing education and training
in the fields of computing, security, communications and information
technology for the public sector. We present this high-level
conference as a forum for the HPCC community. The audience, which
includes 175 senior professionals from DoD, government agencies,
industry and academia, convenes to discuss topics of interest to the
HPC community: homeland security, cyberspace security, government
plans, programs, policy and initiatives as well as the latest advances
in high performance computing, computer security and university and
industry research. Over the past eighteen years, the conference has
grown into the industry’s premier event.
Program, registration and exhibitor information is available online at
