GSA Releases Final Rule on .GOV Domain

GSA released the Final Rule on the ".Gov" domain names and registration March 28. The final rule establishes FMR part 102-173, Internet Gov Domain, and provides policy for registration of domain names. The .Gov domain offers services to federal agencies, state and local governments, and federally recognized Indian tribes, known in this rule as Native Sovereign Nations. Registration information, naming conventions, an interactive application and on-line help can be found at http://www.nic.gov.
