IAC West Mission Statement As a Chapter of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) of the Federation of Government Information Processing Councils (FGIPC), the purpose of the IAC/West is to enhance communications between professional government IT managers and the information technology industrial community. This purpose will be accomplished by: Providing a forum for studies and analyses of public sector management issues, arriving at IAC/West positions on these issues, and presenting results to the Chief Information Officers Council (FCIOC), the Procurement Executives Council (PEC), the Chief financial Officers council (CFOC), the Offices of Management and Budget (OMB), FGIPC, Western Information Technology Council (WITC), IAC and other interested groups. Advising the FGIPC, the above noted councils, government managers and policy officials on the possible impacts of industry trends on government technology issues, serving as a sounding board for changes to federal regulations, and assisting the FGIPC and the above noted councils in public relations and public affairs programs aimed at improving the health of government. Assisting the FGIPC and the above noted councils in identifying professional speakers to deliver individual presentations on technical, administrative, or managerial topics, selected by them.
