The Western Information Technology Council (WITC) hosted its third annual CIO Western Forum August 24 - 26, 2003 in beautiful Park City, Utah. This exciting event included panel discussions and networking from key decision makers in Federal, state and local governments as well as industry partners that help solutions come to fruition. The two main topics of this year's forum were "Security and Interoperability" and "Electronic Government." Governor Mike Leavitt, State of Utah, was in attendance in addition to several state and federal CIOs. State CIOs included the CIOs from the states of Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota and Utah. This event proved to be an exciting opportunity for public sector IT and telecom decision makers to join with subject matter experts from private industry and academia to discuss relative issues and solutions revolving around security, interoperability and e-government.
