Homeland Security IT Challenge 2/20/2003
"The Homeland Security IT Challenge" was in Denver, Colorado on February 20, 2003. Attendees and presenters identified obstacles and possible solutions to the interoperability issues at all levels of government; local, state and federal. Attendees included members of varying sectors of government, including first responders. Private industry partners with possible solutions to the challenges facing government also attended the event. Speakers included Northcom's Major General Meyerrose and FTS Commissioner Sandra Bates, as well as the Chief Scientist from the FBI and the SAFECOM program manager from FEMA. Meyerrose's suggestion for putting into action these new resolutions was summed up in a simple yet influential statement.
